Here are the kinds of foods that you need to avoid as a diabetic person:

1. Food high in fat

2. Food high in sugar

3. Food high in salt

4. Food low in fiber

For examples of such foods take a look at these cake, jelly, jam, ice cream, pastries, doughnuts, cookies, in fact most bakery products would fall under the foods to avoid with diabetes category.

Other food examples would be aerated drinks which give you 8 spoons of sugar in one glass and no nutrition at all.

Also try and cut down on nuts, for awhile they have vitamins and healthy fats and fiber they do contribute to weight gain. So avoid hogging on walnuts, pistas, cashew nuts and ground nuts.

Fruits which are rich in fructose such as Banana, Custard Apple, Dates and Coconut must also be restricted if not totally avoid.

Mosts meats are also high in calories and fats so try to stick with white meat rather than red meat. Which means you need to avoid Mutton, Pork, Beef, altogether.
