*3* Worst Foods To Eat- Period!!!

21 01 2012

In today’s world, foods play a huge part on human beings. Advertisements, television commercials, restaurants, bars and fast food chains play an important role to promote their food products to people globally. We think foods bring us pleasure. However there are worst foods to eat across the globe. We are being fooled by the foods that bring indulgence and temptation to us. Sadly, these three of the bad foods are our body’s biggest enemy.

Food Enemy #1: Soda Drinks

Soda drinks are everywhere you go, vending machines at schools, workplace, public libraries, restaurants and other common places. There are a lot of brands and various flavors of soda drinks. It is also known as carbonated drinks, soda pop, soft drinks, tonic, fizzy drinks, carbonated beverage which is non-alcoholic. According to Us law, soft drinks are allowed to contain up to 0.5 percent of alcohol by volume. Why soda drinks are could be one of the worst foods to eat?

The amount of high fructose corn syrup, caffeine, refined sugars, and mixture of dry ingredients are too much and that raise the level of blood sugar in our body. USDA recommends dietary allowance (RDA) of added sugars in less than ten teaspoons per day for a 2000 calorie diet. However soda drinks contain more than this amount and that is ridiculously insane!

Soda drinks can lead to dehydration, obesity, type 2 diabetes, dental cavities, low nutrient levels, liver damage, tooth decay, hypertension, kidney stones and kidney disease. Therefore soda drinks are useless for our body and should be avoided at all cost.

Food Enemy #2: French Fries

French fries are the worst foods to eat because it is deep fried. any food that is deep fried increases, trans fat and saturated fats. Even though french fries are made from potatoes, there is a chemical called acrylamide which is form during the potatoes are being baked, fried or grilled. The same goes to baked potatoes and potato chips. This chemical could cause cancer in rats and that could cause the same to human beings.

French fries are widely popular in most fast food restaurants but never be found in the health food pyramid. But sadly in America, around 2 billion servings of fries each year and that worsen the obesity level.

Food Enemy #3: Processed Meats

This is one of the worst foods to eat because it is completely unnatural and not organic at all. Processed meats do look tasty because it looks fresh because of the bright red color of the meat. The reality is that the red color of the meat is actually the huge amount of sodium nitrate and mono sodium glutamate (MSG). It is really bad for consumption and lead to major health problems including cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, risk of colorectal kidney, risk of pancreatic cancer and stomach cancer.

Processed meats includes bacon, hot dogs, sausages, burgers, nuggets, packaged ham, sandwich meat, pepperoni, salami and all types of meat that is processed and frozen. Beware of these processed meats because it is sold everywhere at fast food chains, restaurants and most food stalls in school, hospitals, hotels and so on.

Do you notice something about all these three worst foods to eat? Soda drinks, French fries, and burgers. These three foods complete a whole fast food meal! Imagine if all these three foods being consume inside your body. It will definitely triple the bad health effects tremendously! It triples the chances of cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and the list goes on and on.

Therefore eating at fast food chains is really a big disaster for our health and body and that is crazy! We need to stop eating fast foods and start eating healthy now. You will live longer, healthier and stronger than ever before. Remember, always pay the grocer instead of paying the doctor!!!!

, obesity, type 2 diabetes, dental cavities, low nutrient levels, liver damage, tooth decay, hypertension, kidney stones and kidney disease. Therefore soda drinks are useless for our body and should be avoided at all costs.

Wonder What Causes Your Sugar Cravings!!

20 01 2012

The cause of sugar cravings is multi faceted, emotional, physical, psychological, serotonin, release of dopamine and much more.

You may never think of chocolate the same and that’s good news as it’s at the top of the list of food items most commonly craved. Chocolate and sugary foods release opioids upon consumption.

Yes, opioids- just like opium or heroin.

Opioids will bind to brain receptors, triggering feelings of pleasure and well-being. Further evidence that supports the stimulation of opiate receptors by chocolate is that blocking the receptors will reduce the cravings.

Cause of Sugar Cravings and Sucrose:

a 2005 Swedish study proved that sucrose causes the release of endogenous opioids and thus triggers more sugar consumption. Chocolate also causes the brain to release endorphins and contains small amounts of Anandamide, an endogenous cannibinoid that has similiar effects on the brain as marijuana. The cause of sugar cravings is multifaceted.

Another neurotransmitter involved in the cause of sugar cravings and will increase them is serotonin. When we eat sugar or other refined carbohydrates, they are easily broken down and converted to glucose, and fructose. In response to this glucose load, the brain releases serotonin and beta-endorphin s.

Serotonin has many functions in the body and is most known for making us euphoric and feeling good. And low serotonin states with depression and fatigue will cause sugar cravings and promote more cravings. That’s why these sweets are the cause of sugar ravings and become so addictive.

There is a very interesting parallel however. What happens when you take a “natural” substances out of nature, and refine it so much so that you can optimize its biological and chemical activity?

Causes of Sugar Cravings and Sugar Cane:

By the way, cocaine is a drug that is refined from cocoa leaves, opium and heroin from the poppy flower and yes, sugar from a gnarly piece of plant called sugar cane. We made sugar what it is today. We processed it, and then we accentuated the “sweet business” by adding another “natural” product called high fructose corn syrup.

We are doing this us to ourselves and we have created a country teeming with illness that unfortunately is being perpetuated by the ridiculous low-fat diet. Or we could say high sugar diet. There is so much more to the cause of sugar cravings though.

Psychological components are at hand in the cause of sugar cravings. Enticing foods, memorable food experiences, and vivid visual imagery of a delicious slice of chocolate cake cause the release of dopamine. A cause of sugar cravings is the addictive pleasure hormone that is also released during sex and drug use.

Of all the substances we consume that are damaging, sugar is the most harmful as it ignites inflammation and inflammation causes heart disease. We can see the result of excessive sugar in diabetes, obesity and cancer as well. Having seen the ravages of damaged hearts for 15 years as a heart surgeon, my goal today is helping patients prevent disease. A huge step in prevention is overcoming sugar addiction.

As America’s Will Have A Sugar Addiction

18 01 2012

Most people are malnourished. I’m not talking about people living in impoverished, third world nations either. I’m talking about middle class Americans. Because their diet consists mainly of starch, sugar, and GMO’s ( genetically modified organisms), the body is simply disallowed from much needed trace minerals, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants that it requires to rebuild and repair tissue, and to maintain a slightly alkaline state.

The average American is consuming about one-third of a pound of sugar every day. Most of this sugar comes from high fructose corn syrup which is the primary ingredient in processed foods such as chips, crackers, cereals, breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and candy. Besides sucrose and fructose intake, lactose, the sugar found in dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt, is the third most common form of sugar consumed.

The so-called ” health drinks” such as fruit juice, contains a concentrated amount of pure sugar. And just because it’s ” all natural”, it doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Your body can’t tell the difference between sugar from cane, sugar from fruit, sugar from milk, sugar from maple syrup, or sugar from honey. To the body, it’s all sugar! In addition to all of this, complex carbohydrates foods such as bread, pasta, soy, legumes, whole grains, and potatoes, all get converted to sugar in the bloodstream. As a result of this ever increasing sugar addiction in the U.S. we have seen the rates of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and A.D.H.D. skyrocket to epidemic proportions in the last fifty years.

So, what’s wrong with sugar? Well, cancer loves it, thrives on it because is lower the pH in the blood. This creates the ideal environmental for cancer to thrive. Cancer forms in your body all the time, and has been forming and dying since you were born. If the body is healthy and maintains a pH level that is slightly alkaline ( 7.35- 7.45), then it will be able to defend itself against the proliferation of cancer cells. If, however, the environmental is perfect for cancer to thrive, as in an acidic, toxic, low-oxygen state, then cancer cells can multiply rapidly and form themselves into dangerous tumors.

The best way to give the body the nutrients it needs for optimal health and maintaining an alkaline state is through proper diet. This means consuming as many sugar-free, starch-free, nutrient-dense, anti-oxidant rich foods as you can eat. Throw out the grape nuts and begin consuming mushrooms, squash, broccoli, kale, artichokes, and peppers. And stop drowning yourself in sugary coffee drinks and begin drinking green tea instead. A cup of tea ( both black and green) contain about ten times the antioxidants found in a single serving of strawberries.

Americans Are Being Label As Obese People!!!! 10 Strategies To Change This!!!

17 01 2012

We have to admit, most American these days are getting fatter, and some countries are already labeling them as obese people. This cold be backed-up by a recent study that shows 65% of American adults are really overweight and are suffering from obesity. Americans know this fact and they are very much aware of the statistics. However, if you think that adjustments and changes will follow, you are sadly mistaken. In fact, things are becoming worst as the numbers of the obese Americans are rising continuously.

Nevertheless, just like the saying there is always the solution in every problem regardless how tough it is, this article has the reasons on how Americans can eat better contrary to what are others are thinking. Some would think that everything is hopeless with these people considering the lifestyle they have.

Below I show yo some tips on how Americans can eat better and prove their detractors and critics wrong.

Here are 10 Strategies to consider even if your not American:

1. You should avoid the processed foods that have become a part of their culture. Fruits and vegetables are the foods that must be eaten since these will not raise the blood sugar level. While the foods in cans or the processed foods are the ones that are hard to digest and would make them gain extra weight.

2. Read carefully the ingredients of the foods you are eating. These people just love to have their snacks anytime of the day. While there is nothing wrong with that, it will be better if they will be more aware of the foods they are eating.

3. Drinking more WATER!!!!

4. You must be involved more in doing exercises and in avoiding the eating marathon. These two is impossible to shopping for his groceries, he should purchase this and have it stored in his kitchen.

5. Avoid eating late as your body is having a tough time burning those calories you are taking. It will be better if you will have your last meal hour before you actually hit your bed.

6. Always check yourself in front of the mirror and see if there is some improvement in your appearance. This will make you motivated and challenged if ever you are not yet contented with your body.

7. If ever you will be in your favorite fast food chain, do  not order and make your meal super sized. You are actually ordering supersized calories for your body that will only make your metabolism work even harder.

8. You can eat often just liked the usual, however, make sure that it will be only in the right amount and with the proper nutrients in it, of course.

9. Avoid drinking those sodas and instead, drink more water. American people love to drink soda as if they own it. However, too much consumption of it will make them to balloon more and be larger.

10. Surround yourself with the company of the positive people. These people will influence you to do the right thing especially when it comes to your eating preference. Positive people will be there to comfort you whenever you are depressed or burdened with problem. In this way, you will no longer shift your attention to eating as your comforter.

When it comes to dealing with obesity, the Americans people should try to improve their eating habits. Corrections and adjustments must be made accordingly. Each person must posses discipline and dedication if he really wants to make changes in your live!

There’s A Cozy Theory That Mother Nature In Her Wisdom Has Given Us Four Times As Many Sweet Taste Buds!

16 01 2012

There’s a cozy theory that Mother Nature in her wisdom has given us four times as many sweet taste buds, front and center on our tongues, than any other type. There are various notions about why this may be so, but my favorite one is this: back in the days of yore when we hunted and gathered our food in the wilds, nothing in nature that was poisonous had a sweet favor.

Based on this notion, eating sweets was a survival strategy. Couple this lizard brain propensity with the fact that mother’s milk is sweet in flavor not to mention that bonding with mother herself is sweet and nurturing and pleasurable and once again, our survival. And it’s easy to see where the original passion for sweetness began.

Unfortunately, our passion for sweet flavor and the safety it brings has gone radically out of balance. The prevalence of low quality sweeteners and sugary foods, high stress living, and looking for love in all the wrong places, has led to an epidemic of sugar addicition.

As a point of interest, factor in the Macrobiotic theory about the energetic  of food, noting  that sugar, like alcohol and coffee, has an expansive effect on the body.mind. In this view, if we eat too much contracting food like meat and salt, or if we have too much contracting life energy like stress, our organism will  seek homeostasis by eating expansive foods. Of course, at those times when re balancing is necessary, the Macrobiotics recommended the sweet and starchy vegetables and squashes or kuzu root teas, not soda and candy.

Depending on the intensity of your sugar habit, you may need to wean yourself slowly. Frequently, there is an emotional component to a hard-to-break sugar habit. If this is true for you, take the time to get to know your needs and desires and how you use sugar in an attempt to meet them in this indirect way. And please be compassionate with yourself. You are human and doing your best to take care of yourself. But know that you are worth the time and energy it takes to meet your needs in truly healthy, nourishing and life enhancing ways.

Tips on how to get sugar out of your diet today:

1. Reduce or Eliminate Caffeine: Caffeine causes blood sugar swings, which can lead to sugar cravings.

2. Drink Water: Dehydration can lead to cravings, including the craving for sugar

3. Eat Protein And Good Fats: While too much protein can tip us towards craving sugar, so can too little. For overall blood sugar balance, enhanced metabolism and satiety, include some protein and good fats with every meal and even in your snacks.

4. Don’t Skip Meals: Skipping meals can cause a dip in your blood sugar, which can spur the craving for sugar,

5. Pass On The White Flour And Pasta: Not only do these foods lack nutritional value despite being filling, they convert to sugar once digested. Eat whole grains in moderation instead.

6. Eat Sweet Vegetables And Fruits: In the context of a balanced diet, these are wonderful sweets to eat, loaded with fiber, vitamins, micronutrients and phytochemicals.

7. Use Kinder, Gentler Sweeteners: Avoid chemical and artificial sweeteners and food with sugar added. Instead, use small amounts of gentle sweeteners like rice syrup, barley malt, maple syrup, raw honey, Stevia and dried fruit.

8. Get More Sleep: If you are deprived from staying up too late for months and years on end, you may be craving energy. We typically reach for sweets as a fast but backfiring boost.

9. Get More Exercise: Physical activity helps to balance blood sugar and reduce stress.

10. Slow Down And Find Sweetness Without Eating At All: Are you craving something sweet in your life? Time with friends, hugs, fun, creative expression, spiritual connection? Eating will never meet these needs. So feed yourself the nourishing life you truly deserve!

“6″ Excuses Why We Don’t Exercise!!!

15 01 2012

You don’t need to read another article on the importance of exercise and why you need to make it a part of your life. We all know that the United States has an obesity problem and we need to get moving and change the way we eat and live or die horrible obesity-related deaths while we watch our health insurance premiums skyrocket.

Okay, Maybe I exaggerated the last part a little bit. But. We have become a much more sedentary society. the Internet and mobile devices have really changed the way we live. I’m not saying its a bad thing. I’m saying it has changed the way we do things. We need to recognize that we simply don’t get a lot of exercise in our daily lives without making a conscious effort to incorporate it into our day.

We all have reasons why we don’t exercise. Some are based on fixed ideas we have about how ” exercise” needs to be done to be effective.

Exercise doesn’t need to be a grueling step class or an hour at the gym lifting weights. It doesn’t need to be a chore that you dread. Physical activity done in 10 minutes blocks adding up to 30 minutes a day ( or whatever you can manage) is still effective. Even 10 minutes a day is better than nothing and can be a good way for a sedentary person to start out.

Can you dance, ride your bike, go for a walk for 10 minutes a day? After a while those 10 minutes will start to take hold and adding the second set of 10 will be easy.

    Reasons We Don’t Exercise:

   1. I don’t have time. Biggest reason we don’t workout. We’re all busy, but if not today, when? If you want to, you can find 10 minutes 3 times a day to do something you like.

   2. I’m too tired. Physical activity is energizing and will give you more pep to be more active.

   3. I don’t get a break from the kids. Take them with you! Go for a walk or bike ride together. Turn on the music and dance together. Make friends with another parent with kids of similar age and trade off.

   4. I can’t afford a gym membership. Exercise doesn’t have to be done somewhere special and you don’t need lots of fancy, expensive equipment. A good pair of sneakers is the only really essential piece of equipment you need. There are bunches of videos online and on Netflix and your public library geared towards 10-minutes workouts with no special equipment.

   5. Exercise HURTS. if you’re really hurting, not just sore from effect, then you’re not doing whatever you’re doing right. Physical activity should push your limits over time, but it shouldn’t cause real pain. Try changing what you’re doing, ask for advise from a trainer if you belong to a gym or check out a beginner DVD for whatever activity you want to try. Don’t give up!

   6. Exercises Boring.I dislike to exercising just for the sake of exercise. Going to a gym and working on weight machines is my idea of torture. BUT. I love walking and doing core workout. Those are all considered exercise! Really and truly they are. Find an activity that you enjoy, don’t force yourself to do something you hate or bores you, you’ll never stick with it.

Learn How To Restore Your Digestive Health!

14 01 2012

The Key To Restoring Digestive Health And The Foods That Causes Digestion Problems:

Restoring Digestion Health is a process that should begin by eliminating the population of bad bacteria in the gut. A healthy digestive tract will properly assimilate nutrients and eliminate unwanted toxins, including waste. If you are currently experiencing any digestive disorders, you might want to re-evaluate the types of food in your diet.

Reducing the intake of food that is hard to digest like carbohydrates, complex sugars, gluten, and phytates will put you on the path to good digestive health. The lymph tissue lining your digestive system creates over 60 percent of your immune cells. If your digestive system is altered or is compromised in any way, your immune system is affected as well. Any imbalances of the digestive system can lead to skin and joint problems, as well as speed up the aging.

Some Of The Most Common Food Sources Contribute To Indigestion And Other Health Ailments:

Sugar is a big part of the American diet, and it is said that Americans consume about 100 pounds of sugar every year. Here is the thing, sugar feeds bad bacteria and yeast found in the intestinal tract, which creates an imbalance between helpful bacteria, bad bacteria, and yeast. Disaccharides is term you might want to become familiar with due to the fact that most people do not produce enough enzymes to break down this type of complex sugar.

Why Is This Of Importance To You?

If your body is not producing enough enzymes to break down Disaccharides, they will stay undigested in the colon and will became putrefied by the microorganisms that resides there. Microorganisms can be found on or inside the human body and outnumber the amount of cells that make up your entire body. Some of them, considered pathogens, can be harmful and cause disease.

Commercial Cooking Oil Is Another Product That Should Be Monitored Or Avoided Completely:

Increasing your intake of foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and eating organic foods, will put you on the path to restoring digestive health. Cold water fish, salmon, flax seed oil and walnuts are all good sources of omega-3 fats.

Why not make an appointment to meet with a nutritionist or consult with your primary care physician to inquire about healthy food choices.

Fruits should be a big part of your diet because of the nutrients, vitamins and fiber they provide.

Drinking plenty of water on a daily basis will not only keep you hydrated, but will help rid your body of unwanted toxins.

Their Are Some Side Effects You Need To Know If Your On **Metformin**

13 01 2012

Metformin is one of the most popular drugs prescribed fro type 2 Diabetes. This medicine helps the body to control the levels of glucose in the blood. However, Metformin has some uncomfortable side effects that may occur when using it.

Most people who suffer from diabetes get the wrong perspective about Metformin being a safe and less threatening medication which only causes some minor side effects like stomach pain. The reality is that this drug can have extensive effects such as cell damage. A prominent example of the problems that a particular person who suffers from diabetes has is related to the nerves. The dangerous amount of glucose in the blood affects the nerves in a negative way. This usually results in numbness especially in the toes or the finger tips. It is recommended to tend to this problem a fast as possible by consulting your MD. Metformin can have substantial side effects on the body most of which are **HARMFUL.**

Dismissing B12 from the cellular system will result in nerve problems. In order for our nerves to function the right way, vitamin B12 must exist in the cells. Although the prescription may hint that the side effects are of no significance and may advise that you take B12. However, there some reasons why this ineffective, 1- the B12 intake does not last long in our system, 2- B12 drugs have low lasting periods after absorption.

Metformin can cause the body to dismiss a very important enzyme which is cop 10. This may cause harm to the person who suffers from diabetes.

Metformin does not guarantee all the result it claims. Diet and work out could have better results than the consumption of Metformin. This should be a wake up call for the people who consume this pill in order to be wary of the risks

People who suffer from Type 2 diabetes are the only patients that Metformin can be described to. Individuals who have kidney disorders must not consume this medication. Although Metformin has some serious side effects, it does not cause hypoglycemia unlike other diabetes treatments.

You must be aware that symptoms of pre-diabetes are a sign that you are not doing very well. You need to prepare yourself in order to reduce this problem. Mostly, all diabetes pills are risky and may have long term side effects of on the heart which is why they need to be taken with caution
